Having written much of the project on the piano, NINA’s songwriting slots effortlessly into the Pop tradition - combining accessible song structures with continually innovative delivery & content, in the end coming to rest somewhere between KT Tunstall & FKA Twigs. Her staccato falsetto bleeds into powerful, catchy hooks & multi-layered harmonies examining frustration, confinement, sublime natural beauty, love & sex.

Sonically ROMO’s production draws upon a great variety of influences; featuring pounding, sub-heavy soundscapes, lush field recordings, and minimalist guitar melodies reminiscent of The XX. Repeatedly flirting with Dancehall & Dubstep, throughout Iona the UK underground dance scene is an inescapable driving force.
